Finding your local register office

To find details of your local or other register offices in England and Wales, visit the appropriate county council (or London or Metropolitan borough) website by using the search box on the right hand side of this page.

How to search:

  • enter your town or FULL postcode into the search box on the right hand side of the page
  • a link to the area and website you need will be displayed

Before you go to give notice at a register office please follow the guidance below:

Are you subject to immigration control?

If you or the person you wish to marry are subject to immigration control, you will only be able to give notice of marriage at designated register offices (pdf, 26k) which you must attend together. There are 76 designated register offices in England and Wales.
