Introduction

The General Register Office (GRO) and local register offices can only provide information in the form of a certificate.

• GRO has responsibility for events registered in England and Wales

• GRO also holds records of events registered overseas

• There are equivalent General Register Offices for Scotland and Northern Ireland

Births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales- Registrations
